How to Install a Gas Log Set in a Vented Gas Fireplace

Follow these simple guidelines when installing your New Gas Log Set

For "Traditional" Vented Log Sets (Solid Front Log)

1. Place the Front Log

Position the longest log at the front of the grate. This is your front log.

2. Place the Rear Log

The next longest log is the rear log. Set this log on top of the log lifter blocks if your burner uses a grate. Ensure each log lifter block spans two of the grate bars.

3.  Arrange the Top Logs

Place the top logs across the front and rear logs in a visually pleasing manner. Make sure the top logs are not placed between the front and rear logs or too tightly together. There should be enough space for the flame to flow upward freely.

For "Evening" Vented Log Sets (Two-Piece Front Logs with Charred Effects)

1. Place the Rear Log

The longest log is the rear log. Set this log on top of the log lifter blocks if your burner uses a grate. Ensure each log lifter block spans two of the grate bars.

2. Assemble the Front Logs

The next two longest logs form the front log and consist of right and left pieces. Position these logs at the front of the grate so the charred portions are near each other in the middle of the grate.

3. Place the Charred Chunk (if included)

If you have a charred chunk, place it between the two front log pieces.

4.  Arrange the Top Logs

Place the top logs across the front and rear logs in a visually pleasing manner. Ensure the top logs are not placed between the front and rear logs or too tightly together, allowing the flame to flow upward freely.

By following these steps, you'll ensure a proper and aesthetically pleasing installation of your new Rasmussen Gas Log Set.
