Rasmussen utilizes real wood pieces to develop authentic log patterns and employs a meticulous molding process to capture the finest details. The logs are crafted from high-heat resistant, high-alumina refractory cement with a maximum temperature rating exceeding 2300 degrees F. These ceramic logs are reinforced with lightweight expanded clay aggregates and rigid steel rods for exceptional durability and strength.
Each log is individually hand-colored using a multi-step process that includes up to six colors. This environmentally-friendly, non-paint-based ceramic coloring ensures the logs remain vibrant and colorfast under high temperatures, without producing any odor during burning.
